United on Climate - The 3-State-Solution

Oregon can and will be the leader of the pact when it comes to creating a smaller carbon footprint. But all because we lead does not make us exempt from feeling the impacts from other states who are not being aggressive in their Climate Conundrum.

Oregon's oceans are facing issues such as micro-plastics, acidification and Hypoxia. The acidification is caused by too much carbon dioxide in our atmosphere which is affecting the top layers of our oceans and hypoxia is the depletion of the oxygen in our oceans. These factors are wreaking havoc on our ecosystems and the state's economy.

But, Oregon's oceans water does not stay within our states boundaries. WA and CA all share the same ocean...the same water. And this is why it is vitally important to work together with our neighboring states. The 3 west coast Governors will create a "3-State-Solution" bringing the brightest minds together, implanting proven strategies such as planting marine plants up and down the west coast that can take out the carbon and coming up with a blueprint for all coastal cities to abide by. These blueprints are actually a blessing in disguise. They will create many new jobs up and down the coast and bring back to life many abandon and forgotten costal cities.

Stopping a forest fire in its infancy before it spreads into a large--scale wild fire is our new focus with advanced technology. Fires do not stop at the boarders. WA and CA must work together with Oregon to help prevent these raging fires that spread from state to state. We will be creating a wild-fire Taskforce unlike no other. We will adopt A.R.R.T (Ariel rapid response team). With the combined forces of the 3-State-Solution, we can combine technology, robotics and Infrared flame detector cameras that will be strategically placed throughout our forests to catch small fires before they become too big and into massive, quick-spreading unstoppable wildfires. Pollution in the air does not stay within a states boundaries. It drifts from state to state. An analysis by the research arm of Environment Texas found that 275 companies across the state of Texas reported emitting 63 million pounds of hazardous and climate-warming pollutants from their facilities in 2017. So, we must work tougher and together with Texas and let them clearly understand that their problem is also our problem. Oregonians are breathing in their dirty air. The 3-State Solution (OR,CA,WA) will work with all neighboring states until it becomes a chain network spreading form the west coast to the east coast. We will work directly with every state Government and figure out ways together to lessen their air-pollution impact. Working together, we can make a difference.

Further more, any Oregon representative who denies climate change or maybe acknowledges it but does not support powerful solutions...they will be pressured to go on Oregon Live TV/OPB and debate alongside a room full of scientist on this topic. Lives are at stake and this is a national emergency that absolutely needs to be discussed....with intelligence. We will pressure all four neighboring states to do the same.

Soooo Grab the popcorn. This will be fun to watch.

The ways to combat Climate Change will be a requirement for all middle and high school kids to learn about. They might be our only hope on this matter and so it is vital we start them off with the right tools. Education.

Green industry needs to become huge in order to tackle climate change. Fossil fuels and heavy pollutants will slowly be weeded out.

*Oregon will be a supporter of the Green New Deal. We will support and follow their recommended guidelines because we understand the importance of what the future looks like without serious action.
