All lobbyist communications with elected officials will now become 100% transparent.
It's time to end the corrption once and for all.
The Impotent Lobbyist Act requires all Lobbyist in any industry that will have communications with any elected Oregon representatives or legislature to be open and available to the public. It is now forbidden for state officials to have closed-door secret meetings or un-recorded phone conversations with lobbyist.
Prior to thier meeting, the lobbyist first has to make their intentions available on a public-viewed website.
The public needs to know if that lobbyist or the company he is representing has already spent any money towards any politicians election campaign, how much, AND we need to know if/how that politician voted regarding any past laws related to that lobbyist and their represented company.
Any active and current communication with lobbyist must be recorded and put on public record in real time. Who are the lobbyist, who do they work for and what do they want?
The public gets to see it all.
The Impotent Lobbyist Act will ban Lobbyists Bundling.
Lobbyist will often bundle together big contributions from their colleagues and deliver them in one lump sum to politicians. This turns lobbyists into major fundraisers, giving politicians an incentive to keep them happy by working political favors.
The Impotent Lobbyist Act prohibits a Congressperson from leaving congress and then working for a paid lobbyist firm for up to 8 yeas after leaving their position. They are also prohibited from negotiating lobbyist jobs while in office. Any ex-congress-person who is now currently a lobbyist will now be prohibited from communications with any active Oregon state Representatives.
Politicians cannot accept gifts from lobbyist and are automatically recused from voting on any laws or policies that in any way affect that lobbyist or their industry who donated to their campaign.
