Salmon is one of the most important species of fish for the state of Oregon and we need to protect them and allow them to flourish. Our administration is set to greatly increase the funding for our salmon wildlife. Salmon gives an abundance of health and life to both humans and the animal kingdom and of course it is a huge economic boon to the cities and business that depend on strong and healthy salmon numbers.

Counties along the coast and along the Columbia river are home to many rivers where the salmon migrate up and into. Even some Central Oregon counties along the Deschutes or Clackamas River

We know that the past administration has done some work on Salmon habitats and we applaud them for that. But it's just not enough. More can be done.

If you are a living in a city sitting along a river then you can expect a revitalization of financial support and education in order to help strengthen salmon habitat, spawning, fishing, hatcheries and outdoor recreation.

Our team of environmental salmon specialist will put a focus on each and every river that Salmon run through in Oregon. Every single one of our salmon spawning rivers in Oregon will now have habitat and restoration programs to rejuvenate the shorelines and nurture the plants needed for successful and healthy spawning. We will heed these specialists recommendations and spend the resources needed to make Salmon fishing one of Oregon's 7 natural wonders.

We need to invest even more in our fish hatcheries to ensure salmon runs are clean, healthy and plentiful.

We will use advanced innovation to ensure our fish hatcheries are not spewing unhealthy water into the rivers and we will use an advanced method of hatching more salmon fry to life and keep them alive longer into adulthood.

Oregon will benefit from a boost of tourism to take advantage of our best in the world salmon fishing spots. The economic boost because of our fishing industry will far outweigh the cost of investing in our Salmon habitats. And....it's just the right thing to do. Salmon is a key to living a healthy lifestyle. There should not be anyone against wanting to restore such a vital element interweaved in our daily lives.

Rest peacefully knowing that we will protect our Salmon.
