The Wind & Solar future

Within one of the departments of Oregon's Tech-Ten, there will be a focus on the technology of new clean energy. This is our future and one of the ways to help evade climate change.

Our Tech-10 will take this one step further. What clean energy technology lies undiscovered? There are other untapped forces of energy not yet thought of and some still in their infantile stages. Oregon's Tech-Ten will help to make clean energy the main source of power for the entire state. Our vision is to explore and find other alternatives.

When anyone thinks of solar panels and roofs, solar roadways and solar powered vehicles, they naturally think of Oregon.

Wind is the backbone of nature. Without wind...everything stops. We will harness it and use it like no other.

Hundred's of thousands of new great-paying jobs will be created.

SOLAR: *Solar power is the most abundant energy source on Earth. *Solar panel costs have fallen 99% since 1977. *Solar Energy is cheaper than fossil fuels. *Solar power plants can last 40 years or more. *Airplanes can fly around the world while running entirely on solar energy. *Solar power isn’t just a daytime deal – power from the sun’s rays can be stored in salt and used at night too. *Solar power may account for the world's main source of power. OREGON will be the central hub for this innovation.

WIND: *The fastest-growing job in America is “wind turbine technician,” according to the Department of Labor * A single wind turbine can power 500 homes. *Unlike nearly every other form of utility-scale energy, wind power uses virtually no water. *Wind energy generates enough electricity across the U.S. to power 24 million homes. *U.S. wind power substitutes the carbon pollution of over 28 million cars for wind energy. *The top 5 states for installed wind power capacity are Texas, Iowa, Oklahoma, California, and Kansas. OREGON needs to be in this Top-5 ranking.
